The 3-piece ergonomic mouthpiece results in soft, even pressure across the tongue, bars and lips contacting different nerves then in your traditional 2-piece mouthpiece. The dog bone contacts the tongue for pressure to help rate and set a horses head. The sweet iron mouthpiece is intended to rust causing salivation for a more supple mouth.
