Detail
The P2-RS is built on a chassis of the RS2010 Racesafe body protector, which is approved to BETA 2009 Level 3, with the added protection of Point Two air vest technology incorporated into the garment. Not Recommended for children under 56lbs. How the P2-RS works: A lanyard attached to the jacket is clipped onto a lead afixed to the horses saddle. Once the rider leaves the saddle during a fall, the lanyard detaches itself from the P2-RS, triggering the release of CO2 gas from a canister. The P2-RS will hold a rider tight for 15-20 seconds and then slowly deflate. Rigorous checks have been made on the inflated P2-RS to ensure it did not impede riders should they need to roll away from danger when on the ground. The P2-RS is fully reusable, and requires servicing annually or after every six falls. What the P2-RS protects: The P2-RS inflates at speeds of up to 0.093 of a second, to provide enhanced protection to all the major thoracic and upper abdominal organs, the spine and the collar of the neck. It also helps guard against crushing injuries in the event of a rotational fall. Safety standards: The RS2010 Racesafe body protector, approved to BETA 2009 Level 3, is incorporated into the P2-RS which has the added protection of Point Two air vest technology. The revolutionary P2-RS carries the European Standard EN 13158:2009 Level 3, which it meets when both inflated and uninflated. It is also available in a (non BETA-approved) EN 13158:2009 Level 1 version, for professional jockeys and use in FEI competition. Sizing, weight and spare parts: The P2-RS is more comfortable, convenient and nearly 20% lighter than using a separate body protector and air jacket - as required in UK competition. Sizing is the same as Racesafe body protectors, but Point Two recommends riders have the P2-RS fitted by an expert. Each garment is sold with a spare canister of CO2 gas, to be used for a test inflation on the retailers
